Miyuki Morimoto

Miyuki MorimotoBorn in Tokyo, Miyuki graduated from the Kunitachi Academy of Music and completed a post-graduate opera course at the Guildhall School of Music in London. She has won numerous awards and prizes in singing, including “The International Young Concert Artists Competition of Royal Tunbridge Wells” in England, “The Viotti International Competition” in Vercelli, Italy.

She has appeared on the operatic stage in Great Britain, Belgium, Holland, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, New Zealand, and Malaysia in leading roles including Susanna, Queen of the Night, Konstanze, Rosina, Adina, Lucia, Olympia and Antonia, Gilda, Violetta, Cio-Cio-san and Liu.

She has given recitals throughout Europe, USA, New Zealand, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Japan. Engagements in the U.K. have included recitals for the Wigmore Hall, the Schubert Society, the Camden Festival, and an evening of Operatic arias with the London Symphony Orchestra at Barbican Hall as well as several operatic events for the BBC Radio. She sings regularly in Japan, Oratorio and concert performances have included “The Seasons”, “Magnificat”, and has given recitals for NHK FM Radio, Tokyo FM Radio, RKB Mainichi TV, the Sony Music Foundation, and for the British Council at the “UK Fair 98”. Also in the US, concert performances have included “The Creation” with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, in a tour of North America and was broadcast by CBS TV. She has given several recitals for Temple Square Concert Series in Salt Lake City and for the Artists International at Carnegie Hall in New York.
